Job Title: Mechanical Design EngineerLocation: Norwich
Salary: 35-44k
My client has an International reputation for high quality, precision engineered industrial slicing systems for bacon, cooked meats and cheese applications, and builds on many years of experience in the industry.
This role is for the Innovation Team working more on new designs.
The Role
To Manage and action where necessary, the mechanical design and development of new machinery and to prepare and modify design concepts, layouts, drawings, schedules and machine manuals.
To efficiently design and develop all mechanical aspects of new machinery, assemblies and components and to prepare and issue documentation and drawings as required, and to agree timescales.
To maintain accurate and up-to-date drawing office records.
To work in accordance with Company guidelines, ISO 9001 and relevant international standards (e.g. CE)
To action the mechanical design and development of new machinery, assemblies and components, to satisfy the design and cost requirements, to prepare assembly/detail drawings and parts lists.
To prepare design and development plans as required, and to ensure that milestones are met.
To modify and up-date machine design concepts, drawings, parts lists, machine manuals and records.
To liaise with suppliers on drawings and specifications of propriety equipment.
To liaise with Sales, Engineering, Technical Publications, Manufacturing, Service and customers on technical support issues and to ensure that all relevant actions are progressed at maximum speed to successful completion.
From time to time to visit customers and exhibitions etc. on a worldwide basis, as necessary.
Skills/Experience
39 hours a week
Experience required preferably this industry, but transferable skills are fine.
2-3 years experience.
Salary 35k to 44k dependant on skills and experience
