Astute's Nuclear team is partnering with a leader in environmental services in the nuclear sector to recruit a Radioactive Waste Manager for its Winfrith site.

Responsibilities and duties:
Reporting to the SSHEQ Director you will:
· Be responsible for radioactive waste characterisation, audits, technical investigations and improvement programmes.
· Manage accurate and timely inventory of radioactive waste.
· Lead the receipt of radioactive waste shipments and subsequent disposal following treatment.
· Be accountable for the assurance of regulatory compliance with Transport Regulations, EPR Permit and Nuclear Site Licence.
· Provide technical leadership of the Radwaste disposal function, ensuring relationships with the LLWR and other international recycling facilities remain efficient.
· Any other duties as required.
Professional qualifications:
We are looking for someone with the following:
· Science or Engineering Degree
· Previous radioactive waste management experience
· Experience of DGSA assessments and Radiological Waste Characterisation assessments.
Personal skills:
The Radioactive Waste Manager role would suit someone who:
· Has experience in Radioactive waste management role
· Ability to hold and maintain national Security Clearance
· Computer literacy with good Microsoft Excel, Word and Database skills.
· Ability to work unsupervised and respond quickly to emerging regulatory risks
Salary and benefits of the role:
· £50,000 to £65,000 base salary
