Company description
Our client is a specialist consumer goods manufacturer based in Cheshire, near to Manchester. They have significant demand for their products and as a result have a newly created opportunity within their manufacturing team for a Continuous Improvement Engineer to support their continued growth in efficiency, revenues and profitability.
Summary and Purpose
Reporting to the Head of Manufacturing the Continuous Improvement Engineer will be accountable for developing and implementing CI activities throughout the plant, using Lean methodology and tools to analyse and report on manufacturing processes, reporting on key areas of performance and identifying areas for process improvement. In addition, you will monitor, document and analyse OEE performance and deliver improvement.
Responsibilities will include:
* Work with the manufacturing team and broader stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement
* Develop and implement CI activities using Lean methodologies
* Lead process improvements in collaboration with the team identifying root causes, developing then testing solutions, measuring and monitoring results
* Develop and maintain performance dashboards, metrics and KPIs to measure and track the success of activities
* Use statistical tools and Lean principles to identify root cause of failure
Experience Required:
* Ideally Degree educated with extensive experience delivering CI projects in a manufacturing environment
* Extensive knowledge of using Lean, Kaizen, CI, process mapping and other process improvement methods
* Demonstrable experience engaging with stakeholders across a manufacturing site to change CI culture and ensure change is sustainable
* Excellent understanding of Quality Management Systems
