Job summary
Assistant Branch Manager required by large well-established independent timber and builders merchant based in Cricklade, near Swindon. A competitive employment package will be offered depending on skills and experience.You will be responding to initial enquiries from both trade and retail customers via telephone as well as providing quotes and taking orders. Duties will also include sales, ordering stock, goods in, including maintaining a safe working environment and supporting the Branch Manager in their day to day duties.
The successful candidate will have previous sales experience in the Timber and/or Merchant industry, demonstrating first class knowledge of timber products as well as the ability to work well within a team environment.
Motivated and with an ambitious approach to your role, you will have the ability to balance the provision of excellent customer service with the need to generate sales for the company. Strong communication and people skills are essential as well as a high level of accuracy with attention to detail. You will be numerate and literate with strong computer / IT skills.
