Job summary
Core PurposeThis role is to supervise yard operations and personnel ensuring a high standard in workmanship and services to meet customer requirements in a safe environment.
Health and Safety Responsibilities
Health and safety of all staff under direct control or supervision. Ensure all activities are carried out in a safe manner in line with current risk assessments and good working practices. Ensure accident/incidents are reported in a timely manner. Comply with company Offshore Group HSE policy.
Quality Responsibilities
To have a general understanding of the areas of our ISO 9001 management system that are relevant to the role, comply with our Quality Policy and have an understanding of company targets and objectives.
Environmental Responsibilities
Comply with our recycling standards using the correct disposal of items as per signs and bins provided. Reduce energy consumption by turning electrical equipment off when not in use. Report any spills immediately to the Group QHSE Team/Line Manager to allow spill team to clean up using correct items. Comply with COSHH assessments in place, if applicable, and use correct PPE as contained therein.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Principal duties shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
* Supervision of Yard personnel and operations
* Overseeing of Yard Operatives whilst executing designated daily duties within the workshop and yard
* Ensure staff and site safety whilst maintaining high standards of housekeeping and recycling
* Allocate duties to Yard Operatives during the morning operations brief
* Management of client daily operational requirements, department, customer communications and site visitors
* Ensure that Yard Operatives pertain to wearing the correct Personal and Protective Equipment (PPE) and the use of fall arrest equipment.
* Oversee scrap metal, wood and rubber container collections by contractor
* Have an awareness of maintenance and servicing requirements for the Aviation Tank Farm. Ensure all daily and weekly maintenance checks are carried out and documented
* Any other duties as required by the Operations Manager in relation to company operational requirements.
* Undertake allocated tasks in accordance with training and operating procedures reporting any concerns to the Operations Manager
* Reporting any proposed changes to the Operations Manager ensuring these are not undertaken until approved in accordance with the Companys Change Management Procedure
* Support emergency plans and exercises.
* Be actively involved in the permit to work system on site
* Stock management and reporting of stock inventory to office.
* Ensuring Base Operators adherence to safe working practices defined within Operating Procedures and Risk assessments and reporting any weaknesses / concerns to the Operations Manager on discovery
* Overseeing CCUs and tank fleet general condition.

* Previous experience of working in yard environment.
* Strong communicator.
* Effective interpersonal skills
* Ability to work as a team.
* Ability to prioritise workload.
Qualifications
* Forklift License preferred.
* Working at Height certification preferred.
* DG by Sea preferred
