A renowned multi-disciplinary consultancy, with a rich history dating back to the post-World War II era, is actively seeking a Principal Designer to enhance their dynamic team in Norwich. This exceptional role offers an opportunity for a Principal Designer to be integrally involved in a multitude of projects across diverse sectors, including Residential, Commercial, Health, Retail, and Local Authority.The Principal Designer's role will be multifaceted, requiring a comprehensive understanding of various industry sectors. The consultancy's long-standing experience and expertise in guiding projects from their inception to completion make it an ideal environment for a Principal Designer who thrives on being engaged in every phase of a project. This role is perfect for those who prefer a hands-on approach throughout the project lifecycle, rather than playing a limited role at certain stages.
In this pivotal role, the Principal Designer will be instrumental in liaising closely with clients, ensuring that all projects comply with CDM regulations and providing indispensable Health and Safety support. The position demands flexibility and adaptability, as the Principal Designer will be required to travel between different sites, applying their skills and expertise to a variety of projects. This role is not only about ensuring compliance and safety but also about being a vital part of a project's success, adapting to its unique requirements and challenges.
Responsibilities of the Principal Designer:
Supply pre-construction information.
Develop Construction Phase Plans (CPPs).
Advise and assist the client in fulfilling their duties under CDM regulations and other construction-related health and safety standards, regulations, and legislation.
Assist duty holders in creating Pre-Construction Information (PCIs).
Demonstrate a strong understanding of CDM Regulations 2015.Requirements for a Successful CDM Principal Designer:
Minimum NEBOSH General and Construction Certificate.
Preferred NEBOSH Diploma Level 6.
IOSH Membership.
Membership in the Association of Project Safety (APS) is desirable.
Qualification in an engineering, design, or construction-related discipline.
A profound understanding of CDM2015.
Construction Experience across one or more of the above sectors.In Return, You'll Receive:
