Engagement Project ManagerLocation: Bristol, BS1 3LH, with occasional travel (Hybrid working available)
Salary: £33,290 to £39,875 + Benefits
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Hours: 37.5 per week, Monday - Friday
CSE is a Bristol-based national charity founded in 1979 helping people and organisations address the climate emergency and end the misery of cold homes. We do this by giving advice, managing innovative energy projects and undertaking research and policy analysis.
We are looking for an exceptionally driven and knowledgeable individual with excellent project management, communication, planning and facilitation skills to help drive forward effective local area energy planning and enable the transformation of local energy systems.

Engagement Project Manager - The Role:
The postholder will support local authority officers and other place-based contributors in the design and delivery of a broad and diverse range of innovative initiatives.
Design and lead inclusive and locally resonant engagement initiatives that enable local and regional authorities and other place-based energy system stakeholders to accelerate and strengthen the delivery of their net zero and decarbonisation ambitions.
Project management of a range of initiatives within the LACE team with responsibility for planning, budgeting, ongoing financial management, funder liaison, reporting, monitoring, and evaluation.
Design and delivery of effective stakeholder engagement processes that secure appropriate levels of participation from target stakeholders.
Providing expertise and insights in stakeholder engagement to colleagues in wider CSE teams to support them in the delivery of their projects.
Building relationships, developing project partnerships and liaising with a range of external stakeholders, including local and combined authorities, community energy groups, and Distribution Network Operators.
Work with the Development team and LACE colleagues to identify and develop new opportunities, associated with CSE's local authority, net zero and consultancy work.
To represent CSE at external events and conferences as required
Engagement Project Manager - Requirements:
O'Level/GCSE Maths and English, minimum.
Experience of:
Managing projects and project teams.
Designing and implementing stakeholder engagement processes and programmes, involving participants across a range of seniorities.
Working closely with or within a UK local or combined authority.
Working as part of a matrix management system, across teams and on several different projects at the same time.
Designing and delivering engaging workshops and events
Knowledge & understanding of
Non-technical challenges preventing progress in the net zero and decarbonisation space.
Local authority climate emergency declarations and key priorities and challenges in the achievement of local authority climate action plans Inclusive local and community-centred approaches to consultation, engagement, and empowerment
Skills & Abilities
Excellent budget management and reporting skills.
Excellent virtual, hybrid and in-person facilitation skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage a wide range of audiences in an appropriate and accessible manner.
Ability to work flexibly and manage competing priorities.
Self-motivation and initiative, with ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team.
Good time management skills
Competent in use of MS office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Advantageous to have:
Relevant degree or Project management qualification
Project management in the sustainable energy or net zero sector.
Leadership of multi-partner and/or multi-disciplinary projects.
Building consensus and commitment for action at local, community and regional levels.
Developing and writing successful funding proposals and tender responses.
Line managing one or more colleagues.
The UK energy system; its governance and key stakeholder groups.
Local Area Energy Planning (LAEP) and similar approaches to decarbonisation pathway planning.
Opportunities and approaches to community-led action on energy across the UK (including community energy)
Renewable energy, fuel poverty and smart energy system technologies

The postholder will undertake City & Guilds Energy Awareness training as part of their induction.
