Job summary
THE COMPANY: My client are a forward thinking main contractor with a regional turnover in excess of £100m. Their extensive portfolio of completed schemes spans a wide range of sectors including cutting edge carbon free buildings, Defence, Education, Healthcare, Commercial, Industrial, Leisure and General Public works and these have been secured using a diverse range of procurement methods including substantial repeat business methods due to their non-confrontational approach. They are also included on many Framework agreements.THE ROLE:
With a number of projects starting in Quarter 1 valued between £1million - £6million my client are now looking for a Site Manager who is able to travel to Salisbury on a daily basis. Reporting to the Project Director you will be overseeing teams delivering sensitive projects within an MOD environment.
You will need to be SC Cleared for this position.
Responsibilities
The principle tasks of the Site Manager may include:
- Controlling prelims, and project budgets.
- Ensuring the construction works run to strict programme.
- Managing pre construction activities.
- Maintaining strict quality control procedures.
- Procurement and management of the supply chain.
- Management of change - client/supply chain.
- Lead regular site meetings with all interested parties.
- Conducting regular site safety checks.
- Being proactive in the identification and resolution of problems.
- Maintaining effective long term relationships with the customer and their representatives/advisors.
- Ensuring the project team comply with the Companies Business Management System.
- Being proactive in the identification and resolution of problems.
- Implementing and maintaining the Construction Strategy and Policies for Sustainability, Health and Safety, Quality, Environmental, Training and Development etc. and acting as an exemplar of the company culture and values.
- Line managing junior members of staff.
