Job summary

NeuroSupport services are currently recruiting Support Workers and Healthcare Assistants with a background of Brain Injury and Mental health experience to support services users with an acquired Brain Injury. Our service aims to support rehabilitation and in enabling people to optimise independence and quality of life.

We are looking for psychology graduates,support Workers and Healthcare Assistants or suitable candidates who would be willing to support people both within their home environment and also willing to provide support in helping service users access the community. We are looking for candidates that are confident with working independently and providing empirical feedback where necessary.

Job Title: Support Worker
Location: Manchester, M20
Hourly Rate: £12-£14 per hour depending on experience.
Driver Essential? No
Gender Preference:This role is open to *Female* applicants only.
Start Date: ASAP
Days & Hours:

Client is only available weekday evenings, or weekends. 4 hours per week.

About you-Essential Experience:

Client is currently undergoing neuropsychological treatment. Their doctor recommends input from a Support Worker or Therapy Assistant to help the client maintain a routine, providing prompts and reassurance as required, provide social contact and support with engagement with activities that protect her mood. The role is also to reinforce approaches and strategies introduced in therapy session, to build consistency.

Example activities could include going for walks in the local community, going to the gym, cooking and working on strategies and/or coping mechanisms to enable her to manager her mental health better and become more independent.

Successful Candidates will:

* Have access to full Training - including Brain Injury Awareness Training

* CPD opportunities

* Will be subject to Full Enhanced DBS

* Competitive Hourly Rate

* Gain Experience working with an MDT

* Have at least six months experience of working in a support worker role or similar, in the past three years.

* Must have a Full UK Driving License and access to your own car

* Have Experience in the field of Psychology

* Willing to become self-employed
