Job summary
My Shrewsbury based Manufacturing / Engineering client are looking for a Warehouse & Logistics Operative to join their team on a full time and permanent basis.The company are looking to relocate from Shrewsbury to Wolverhampton within the next 6-9 months so looking for someone who is willing to be able to get to both locations.
Duties:-
* Adhere to standards of housekeeping and tidiness are achieved and maintained utilising 6S policies.
* Receive and process all incoming materials and components in line with agreed targets.
* Verify incoming materials and components in accordance with established work booking and quality procedures.
* Ensure correct processing of all documentation and records associated with goods inwards.
* Ensure safe & secure storage of all stored items.
* Ensure safety procedures are adhered in respect of storage of hazardous materials and substances.
* Observe safety rules and procedures regarding stacking, handling, lifting and materials handling of stored items.
* Create, develop and maintain robust stock control procedures including data entry practices.
* Co-ordinate the delivery of components from the Warehouse to the Production areas ensuring on time and accuracy in accordance with the MRP system
* Ensure daily customer despatches are made on time and are accurate.
* Co-ordinate daily cycle counting operations and associated reconciliation tasks within the Materials Warehouse.
* Coordinate transport requirements into and from the business to ensure safe and cost-effective movement of goods and parts in and out of the business.
* Safely Deliver/Collect Components or Completed Machinery from or to suppliers and customers
* Communicate with the Internal Supervisor on a regular basis, the results, activity, progress and issues with suggested counter measures and stock levels.
Key Skills:-
* You will have worked in a Warehouse / Logistics operative role previously.
* Hold a full drivers license with the ability to tow (category b) and hold or have held an FLT License
* Able to work as part of a team as well as on own initiative.
* Excellent communication skills
* Able to work to timescales and deadlines.
* Good attention to detail
