Position Summary:
As a Kitchen Porter with Cooking Skills, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen, while also assisting our cooks in food preparation. Your dedication to maintaining a clean work space and your willingness to contribute to the cooking process will help us deliver exceptional dining experiences to our residence.
Key Responsibilities:
Kitchen Maintenance: Keep the kitchen spotless by washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment, as well as cleaning and sanitising food preparation areas.
Organisation: Maintain a well-organised kitchen environment, optimising space and storage for efficiency.
Cooking Assistance: Assist our cooks and kitchen staff in food preparation, including chopping, slicing, and basic cooking tasks.
Hygiene Standards: Strictly adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines, ensuring the safe handling and disposal of food items.
Inventory Control: Help monitor kitchen inventory levels and communicate any shortages or restocking needs to the team.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with other cooks, and kitchen staff to facilitate a smooth and efficient kitchen operation.
Safety: Be vigilant in identifying and reporting any safety hazards to ensure a safe working environment.Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Kitchen Porter or similar role in a restaurant or culinary setting.
Basic cooking skills and an understanding of kitchen hygiene and sanitation practices.
Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
