Job summary
We are working with a local Plymouth school to appoint a full-time Teaching Assistant. The school is a specialist provision for learners aged 4-19 with learning difficulties and autism. You will be working in one of offsite provisions supporting pupils with complex needs. The class has a small number of students and high staff to pupil ratio.Ideal candidates will:
Be a committed to supporting vulnerable children
Have experience of working with children or adults that have special needs
Have a calm and caring personality
Children are placed into smaller classes based on their individual needs with staff who have a wealth of experience and skills. The classrooms are all different and are designed around the individual needs of the children in that group.
Your role will be to provide support mainly on a 1-1 basis with lessons, including helping children to access learning. Lessons are typically activities-based and focus on helping childrens social development alongside their academic progress.
Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8.30am-3.30pm approximately.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
