Job summary
As Finance Assistant, reporting to the Financial Controller, you will develop your career working amongst the small finance team within the family-owned group. The business seeks to reward success and promote internally with the role offering the right candidate the opportunity to benefit from further training to develop financial qualifications.Key Responsibilities
Role will include:
Purchase Ledger
* Management and maintaining of the creditors ledger, including nominal coding and expenditure authorisation process.
* Statement checking.
* Invoice inputting
* Purchase order book management and reconciliation.
* Weekly and monthly BACS runs.
Sales Ledger
* Raising of recurring rent invoices and ad hoc sales invoices.
* Credit control of most companies
Other Duties
* Cashbook reconciliation, daily and at month end.
* Managing the group finance email inbox.
* Daily updating of 13-week cashflow.
* Identify accruals and prepayments.
* Telephone answering and queries.
* Ad hoc administration duties.
* Assisting with the set up and creation of new controls and procedures, that will allow streamlining of work to enhance reporting to the Senior Leadership Team.
Person Specification
It is desirable that individuals have:
* Previous experience in a similar role is desirable.
* Experience of Sage Line 50 is desirable.
* Proficient in Microsoft packages.
* The ability to adapt, multi-task and work to deadlines.
* A self-starter with excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
* Positive working mentality
