Our client has been established for almost a quarter of a century and are recognised as market leaders in the provision of bespoke innovative materials handling and automation solutions to a diverse range of clients and industry sectors throughout the UK, and as a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of exciting strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced Health and Safety Manager to complement their dynamic and professional team.
Working out of prestigious offices based near Nottingham, the successful Health and Safety Manager will thrive within a technology focussed solutions environment and will be responsible for a range of duties that will include (but not be limited to):
Promoting a positive and integrated health and safety culture in the workplace.
Preparing health and safety strategies and developing internal policy and procedures
Working with all departments to ensure that risks are assessed and adequately managed.
Creation and implementation of SOPs.
Maintaining ISO accreditation
Carrying out regular site inspections to check that H&S policies and procedures are being properly implemented, keeping records of the findings and producing reports to engender continuous improvement.
Managing the compliance of suppliers and contractors, ensuring they possess and maintain the requisite skills, knowledge and experience required to work on site.
Investigating accidents and incidents, implementing any corrective and preventative actions required and keep accurate records.
Completing training needs analysis and implementing personal development plans in line with compliance.
Conducting internal audits and preparing for external audits as required
Keeping abreast with new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all HSE legislation and any developments whilst maintaining existing company policies and procedures
Ensuring the team understand how the company policies relate to their role and the performance of their duties and provide suitable training, instruction, supervision, and guidance.To be considered for this exciting Health and Safety Manager opportunity within a genuinely unique environment, it is envisaged that the successful candidate will demonstrate at least 5 years' experience gained within an H&S management role with experience ideally gained within an industrial automation or manufacturing environment. You will essentially demonstrate exhaustive knowledge of current H&S legislation along with experience and knowledge in the implementation of safe working practices and risk assessments, and will realistically be qualified to at least NEBOSH NGC (or equivalent) or above with NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) proving distinctly advantageous.
