Position: Senior EstimatorLocation: Hybrid - 2/3 days office near Leicester or Paignton / 2 days working from home
Salary Range: £35,000 - £60,000
We are excited to represent our esteemed client, a renowned specialist in the design, manufacturing, and installation of structural steelwork for the transmission and distribution sector across the UK. With a comprehensive suite of services spanning from design to project management, they excel in delivering excellence from inception to completion. Their expertise encompasses the installation of substation structures, electrical equipment, busbars, clamps, and both above and below-ground earthing systems.
Due to sustained expansion and a robust order pipeline, we are seeking an adept Estimator to join their dynamic team.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with, and report directly to, the Managing Director. Responsibilities will include:
Accurate quantification of steel requirements from architectural and engineering drawings, as well as material lists generated from both internal and external 3D steel drafting systems.
Seamless coordination with internal departments and external stakeholders, including architects and engineers, as necessary.
Involvement in procurement and order processing for steelwork/metalwork and associated materials, ensuring a diverse range of tasks within the role.
Conducting thorough variation analyses to justify additional costs to clients.Requirements:
Minimum four years of estimating experience in structures/transmission & distribution projects, encompassing areas such as structural steel, substations, and earthing.
Demonstrated ability to thrive under pressure while meeting established objectives, budgets, and deadlines.
Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, or estimating software.
Competence in interpreting architectural plans to formulate cost estimates.
Exceptional time management and multitasking skills.
In-depth understanding of construction and fabrication processes.
Analytical mindset coupled with a keen attention to detail.Training will be provided to bridge any competency gaps in experience.
