Consulo First are proud recruitment partners to a Global Design and Manufacturer of Mechanical Power Transmission products who support a broad plethora of Industries in the UK and Globally including Steel, Waste-water, Quarrying, Chemicals, Food, Energy from Waste and Oil & Gas.The parent company have invested significantly into the UK operation over the past few years, bolstering their manufacturing and product capabilities along with strengthening their sales force.
The company now have an exciting opportunity to join them as their new Quality Manager.
The role
As Quality Manager you will be reporting to the General Manager and will be the focal point for Quality, responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the Company's Quality Management Systems & Processes.
Responsibilities
* Developing and implementing a Quality Management System (QMS) compliant with ISO 9001 standards
* Leading the certification process for ISO 9001 accreditation
* Ensuring all processes and procedures align with ISO 9001 requirements.
* Conducting internal audits to assess compliance with ISO 9001 standards.
* Facilitating external audits by certification bodies
* Working closely with all departments including Manufacturing/Production/Procurement and Supply chain address any quality issues that arise
* Communicating clearly and concisely all customer requirements to all relevant internal parties and externally to suppliers of products or services which may affect customer satisfaction.
* Documenting procedures, work instructions and quality records according to ISO 9001 requirements and their roles in maintaining compliance.
* Continuously improving the QMS based on feedback and performance metrics.
* Serving as the point of contact for ISO 9001 related inquiries and issues.
* Liaison with customers and suppliers to resolve any issues or complaints ensuring timely and effective corrective actions are agreed, implemented and monitored.
* Collation and analysis of data, maintaining all pertinent records and compiling of reports and recommendations for senior management.
* Preparing and managing the Quality annual budget. Managing and developing the Continuous Improvement Philosophy within the team and throughout the company.
* Planning and managing the audit schedules for the Quality programme including 3rd party and external audits.
Requirements
* Previous Quality Management experience ideally in the Manufacturing or Engineering Industries
* Previous Quality Management or senior Quality Engineering gained in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
* Experience of product and process quality within a manufacturing environment.
* Experience of leading and managing a team in a manufacturing environment.
* Have a solid understanding and experience of ISO 9001
* Experience in applying problem solving methodologies e.g. 8D.
* AS9100 Certified Internal Auditor
* Lean / Continuous Improvement
