The Role:
As a senior member of our team, you will be responsible for providing a high level of technical support and project delivery. You will have significant experience in the Microsoft range of solutions such as Windows Server and Microsoft Azure. Located in the heart of Birmingham our client provides IT support services and solutions to a range of customers, from the SME business community all the way through to large scale corporate bodies, the public sector, including schools, NHS Trusts, and police forces country wide.
Mandatory Skills (Design/Install/Support):
Server Virtualisation (VMware/Hyper-V)
Manage / Migrate / Support / Monitor
Storage SANs (NetApp, HP, Dell)
Understanding of the below technologies and how to design and deploy shared storage with the following:
NFS / iSCSI / SAS of
Active Directory, DNS & Group Policy / Remote Desktop Services / File & Print Services
Exchange 2010 to 2019
Office365 migrations scope and implement / Exchange on-prem to on-prem migrations scope and implement.
Switch configuration and design (HP/Cisco/Dell)
Layer 2, Layer 3, understanding the difference / VLANs / LAGs / Trunking / port channels / Spanning Tree / Stacking / IP helpers / SNMP
Next Generation Firewalls
Understanding of:
NATs / Firewall Rules / Security services / Routing tables / Static Routes
Microsoft 365
Autopilot, onboarding / Application management / Deployment / Conditional Access & compliance policies.
Expected Skills (Design/Install/Support)
Terminal Services / Remote Desktop Services / Remote working (SSLVPNs)
Personal Requirements
* Research and gather business intelligence across various markets.
* Proven track record via previous experience and references within this role
* At least 2 years experience in a similar role.
* Great communication skills and ability to empathise with customers, and so maintain a well-balanced and realistic relationship with them.
* A can-do enthusiastic attitude, willing to investigate and take on new technologies.
* Outstanding time and job management skills.
* To be able to cooperate effectively with other company departments, ensuring a mutual work together approach is maintained.
* To confidently engage with the management team.
* Smartly presented at all times, with a calm but confident persona when dealing with difficult situations/people.
* Confident and polite telephone manner
* Good organisational skills and attention to detail
