Job summary
At WorkLyf Group we are recruiting a Depot Operative for our client based in Peterborough in the rail industry.As a Depot operative, you will be instrumental in the smooth running of the depot and will get involved into the full range of the depot operations, warehouse operations, including picking, packing, receiving, sorting, data inputting and auditing, aiding tin the workshop alongside technicians, setting up workstations and minor duties on exam tasks
Do you enjoy a variety of tasks? Do you have an appetite to help and learn? This role would suit a candidate with some warehouse / store experience and a mechanical aptitude, willing to make a difference to the depot daily operations.
The role will include:
Accurate and efficient picking, and processing of orders internally, ensuring stock levels are maintained in real time
Off load deliveries, and allocating to required storage locations, processing all required paperwork relating to deliveries.
Maintaining good in/out areas, and advising on core item returns for processing
Timely completion of stores relates paperwork, including goods receipting and booking of parts
Completion of cycle counts, and annual stock takes
Moving, collecting, and setting up tooling
Operate a variety of handheld tool and power tools as required in a safe and efficient manner in line with guidelines, policy and procedure.
Responsible for carrying out range of labouring duties and responsibilities, such as Topping up sands
Setting up and cleaning up tasks
What we would love you to bring to the role:
Some experience of warehouse operations
A Forklift operator certification & Manual Handling Certificate or willingness to achieve these
Drivers License required to drive company vehicles
A proactive and energetic approach with an appetite to resolve issues
A strong commitment towards customer satisfaction & Health and safety
A track record of operating to quality standards and within Standard Operating Procedures
Comfortable using a ERP system
Salary - 21,000 - 24,000 depending on experience
Hours - Monday to Friday - 8am - 16:00pm
