GSL Education is looking for an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant for a distinguished Secondary client school in Winchester to start immediately.
Ideally, you will be required to provide support to children who have SEN (including ASC, ADHD & SEMH) in groups or 1:1, within a classroom setting. You will have to be confident and able to work as part of a team, that challenge and support the progress of pupils.
As the ideal SEN Teaching Assistant, you should have experience in:
Special Educational Needs, Emotional, Social, Literacy, and Numeracy difficulties.
Supporting young people with Autism, Speech, Language, and Communication Needs and have experience in using PECs and Makaton.
Experience in managing behaviour, outdoor education, Lego Play, and Compass Buzz.
Previous experience in a 1:1 support, personal care, or Teaching Assistant position.
Job responsibilities:
Cultivating and advancing the Academy's curriculum and atmosphere, fostering academic, social, and emotional growth.
Evaluating student advancements and verifying that they align with the objectives outlined in their EHCP.
Taking charge of the student's professional development by ensuring their active involvement in all educational undertakings.
To work with GSL Education as an SEN Teaching Assistant, you should:
Have the right to work in the UK.
Possess at least 6 months of experience in an educational setting or the healthcare sector.
Provide an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last 2 years.
Hold a DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
