Welding & Fabrication Technician

* Full time, permanent
* 8:00am 4:30pm, Monday to Thursday; 8am 1:00pm on Fridays
* £30,000 - £32,000 per annum

We design, manufacture, test, install and commission Reverse Osmosis plants within multiple sectors, alongside technical assistance, and support for other manufacturers' water treatment systems.

Key tasks of the Welding & Fabrication Technician:
* Preparing materials for welding by cutting, grinding, and cleaning surfaces to be welded.
* Welding metal parts together using MIG and TIG welding techniques, while ensuring quality and accuracy of welds.
* Inspecting welds to ensure they meet the required standards and specifications.
* Operating other fabrication equipment, such as drill presses, grinders, and saws, as needed.
* Collaborating with engineers, designers, and other production staff to develop and refine welding processes and techniques.
* Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and procedures.
* Maintaining a clean and organised work area.
* Keeping accurate records of work performed, including materials used and time spent on each job.
Knowledge, skills & experience required:
We are looking for someone with previous experience in a similar role, having previously worked with Mild Steel, Stainless Steel and Structural Steel. Ideally, you will have attained a Level 3 BTEC or NVQ in Welding, Fabrication or Engineering and have demonstrable previous experience in the industry. We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running, so experience in both MIG and TIG welding, along with an understanding of how to read technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols is important to us!
