Job summary
Due to growth and expansion, a leading manufacturer of precision components has a new vacancy for a Manufacturing Engineer to join the team. You will be responsible for developing a robust manufacturing process, implementing best practices, capacity planning and improving efficiency across the plant. An experienced engineer, candidates are sought with experience in a fast-paced high volume production environment.Commutable from: Leicester, Coventry, Hinckley, Derby, Nottingham, Northampton, Nuneaton, Rugby, Loughborough, Coalville.
Salary: £ 38,000 - £ 45,000 p.a. + excellent benefits
Suitable for: Manufacturing Engineer, Senior Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer, Continuous Improvement Engineer, CI Engineer.
The Role
Improve manufacturing performance with regard to process capability, output, productivity and cost.
Manage and implement process modification in tooling, work holding, layout, programming etc to achieve sustained product conformity.
Deliver robust manufacturing solutions for new New Product Introduction
Provide expertise in supporting the business with regard to the Manufacturing Systems, policies and procedures.
Investigate root cause and corrective actions with strong problem solving and fixes to improve processes, reduce MRRs, rework and scrap from reoccurring failures.
Assist with cost estimating on new opportunities.
Develop capable processes and standard work within manufacturing engineering and manufacturing operations and ensure compliance.
Produce controlling documentation for engineering process, train workforce as necessary.
Investigate existing repeating issues and undertake continuous improvement projects.
The Person
Experience required in a high volume, complex precision manufacturing environment.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently.
HNC or equivalent in an engineering discipline with relevant industrial experience.
Able to manage multiple tasks and projects, prioritise under pressure and be self-motivating.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and ability to create documents, reports and briefing materials in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience in developing robust engineering controls and working in volume manufacturing.
