Job description
The company is a leading manufacturer of commercial vehicles and have an unequalled reputation for the quality of our products and services. We are looking for a Production Supervisor for our Front Shop to continue to drive the business forward.
Role Purpose
The Production Supervisor will manage and lead a team of fabricators, allocating workload and managing the day-to-day operations in the Front Shop. It requires the job holder to co-ordinate resources and liaise with internal and external key contacts to ensure work is delivered on time and to an excellent quality standard. The successful candidate will also be responsible for employment decisions, reviews, absence and performance monitoring and overall development of department associates.
Key accountabilities
Responsible for job allocation and job flow in the workshops including job scheduling and labour allocation for day-to-day operations.
Co-ordinate resources (operational and human), schedule activities to effectively manage jobs.
Ensure supplies are ordered for each job in advance of the requirement.
Project management and quality checks
Ensure correct job numbers are used and that time records are correct.
Oversee the accuracy of the build, its progress, and the quality standard.
Regularly report progress on each job and quickly communicate delays or concerns
Act as a technical advisor on key projects
Liaise with sawmill and stores on a regular basis.
Investigate any concerns arising from products and suggest appropriate solutions. Discuss with other supervisors and or the individual concerned to identify appropriate course of action.
Provide feedback to staff that are not performing to the expected level and ensure HR are informed of trends in performance.
Ensure Health & Safety is adhered to report any plant not in correct working order.
Monitor staff holidays and overtime.
Skills and experience
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work with people at various levels from shop floor to senior management.
Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Positive attitude to deliver excellent results.
Experience:
Production Supervisor: 1 year (preferred)
Manufacturing: 3 years (preferred)
