Job title: Electrician / Harness Builder. location: Burton.

Shifts: Days only.

Payrate: £19.11 per hour - anything over 44 hours is £25.62(umbrella)
Hours per week: 44 hour per week + overtime.

Hours: 7am to 5pm Monday to Thursday, 7am to 1pm on Friday.
Duration: Contract, 3 Months + (likely to be extended)

Start date: Immediate

Client Summary:

Leading manufacturer and front line supplier of powertrain products based in the UK and Ireland. Areas of expertise include Engine Overhaul, final Drive Overhaul and locomotive refurbishment.

Position Summary:

The role of the Electrician/Harness builder is to ensure that all the engine rafts are manufactured/repaired in accordance with current drawing/instruction to a high standard.

Key accountabilities:

* To manufacture conduit and concentric layered harnesses.

* To repair parts and equipment when needed.

* To inspect and repair harnesses, control cabinets and electrical items of train power packs and transmissions.

* To order parts and equipment as necessary.

* To complete all documentation and receipts, including inspection sheets, and apply signatures as appropriate.
* To identify repairs required via unfair wear and tear and advise the

Electrical Team Leader.

* To undertake training as and when required.
* To work within a realistic timeframe.

* To have good knowledge of automotive electrical systems and manufacturing harnesses.
* To work to, and support, all relevant 5S activities.

* To ensure that standard preventive measure is applied when maintenance is done on all electrical equipment.

* To ensure that waste is disposed of in the correct manner.

* To mentor trainees / apprentices when applicable.
* To follow written or verbal instruction.

Person Profile/Experience:

* The ability to work within a changing environment, working to deadlines and short lead times.

* To always adhere to the company's Health, Safety & Environmental instructions and requirements.

* To take on any other reasonable responsibilities or tasks that are within the employee's skills and abilities

Qualifications/Education required:

* NVQ Level 3 Electrical Engineering or higher or working towards - Preferred

* Previous experience in rail or automotive industry - Preferred
