Job summary
Transport Planner/ControllerThis position reports directly to the Transport Manager and is a vital role within Conquip Engineering Group.
We are looking for a true problem solver, someone who is confident, experienced wihtin this sector and truly understands the importance of a client first approach.
Main Purpose of the Role
Working closely within the Client Operations Team to ensure that all logistics functions are carried out for all departments on time and in full and that all tasks and daily planning are organized for the best routing optimization and ensuring that Conquips promise of service excellence is delivered on.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Managing the daily workflow of all logistic requests
2. Optimising Routes & Planning for each day to be fulfilled.
3. Daily problem solving & providing solutions to all Operations Departments.
4. Being the 1st point of call for daily support to all drivers, offering the appropriate levels of support so all jobs get completed on time and in full.
5. Scheduling all jobs through the Transport System for deliveries & collections, Accuracy of data input is critical.
6. Booking in jobs for deliveries and collections on to 3rd Party systems.
7. Requesting permits for wide load and abnormal transport movements.
8. Raising purchase orders for sub-contractors and reconciling invoices.
9. Managing daily workload & communicating to all teams when jobs are off track.
10. Liaising with Client Operation Departments with any failed deliveries/collections and general queries on jobs.
11. Ensuring that above all, all functions and decisions are customer centric and tracked through communications within Salesforce.
Basic Skills Required
· Teamwork
· Ability to work in a fast paced & high-pressured environment
· Good Planning and organisational skills are essential.
· UK geographical knowledge
· Understanding of Driver hours & WTD
