Learning Support Assistant- EppingAre you passionate about making a positive impact on students' lives? If so, Remedy have a rewarding opportunity for you as a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) at a school in Epping.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one or group support to students with special educational needs (SEN) or additional learning needs, under the guidance of the classroom teacher and SEN coordinator.
Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support students in accessing the curriculum.
Collaborate with teaching staff to create and adapt learning materials, resources, and activities to meet the individual needs and abilities of students.
Support students with specific learning difficulties, such as dyslexia, autism spectrum disorders, or behavioural challenges, by implementing strategies recommended by the SEN team.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes the social, emotional, and academic development of all students.
Assist with the assessment and monitoring of students' progress, documenting observations and providing feedback to the teaching staff.
Encourage student engagement and participation in classroom activities, promoting independent learning and self-confidence.
Collaborate with other LSAs and teaching staff to share best practices, strategies, and resources.
Communicate effectively with parents/guardians, providing regular updates on students' progress and addressing any concerns or queries.
Qualifications and Skills:
A genuine passion for working with students and supporting their educational and personal development.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians.
Patience, empathy, and understanding of diverse learning needs and abilities.
Knowledge of specific learning difficulties and strategies to support students with SEN or additional learning needs is desirable.
Previous experience working in an educational setting or with children is an advantage.
Relevant qualifications or certifications in education, child development, or special educational needs are preferred.
