Job summary
i am currently recruiting for a Head of Design for a specialist Cladding and Facade Contractor in Portsmouth.They are part owned by one of the biggest growing contractors in the UK and work on commercial, industrial, fit out and refurb schemes across London, South and M4 Corridor and the idea is that they undertake all the work for the parent company as well as tender other work for Tier 1 and 2 contractors in the same markets.
They need an experienced Design lead to manage a team of 5 designers and work in conjunction with the precon and estimating teams to establish 1st principles design management for a range of schemes for Tier 1 contractors on roofing, facade and cladding works.
The role is to oversee, manage and motivate the team, work with the senior leadership team to establish clear and concise pathways for design in the business and be client lead for new schemes. You will also work with the delivery and quality teams on site to follow the design process through to commissioning and handover stages.
