Job Description:
As the IT Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the schools information technology systems, infrastructure, and services. This role requires a combination of strategic thinking, technical knowledge, and people management skills to drive IT initiatives that align with their business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
IT Strategy and Planning:
Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy in alignment with the company's goals.
Assess current technology needs and plan for future requirements.
Evaluate emerging technologies and make recommendations for their adoption.
Infrastructure and Systems Management:
Manage and maintain the company's IT infrastructure, including servers, network, and data centres.
Ensure the security and integrity of data, systems, and networks.
Oversee hardware and software procurement, installation, and maintenance.
Team Leadership:
Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, including system administrators, network engineers, and help desk support staff.
Set performance goals, provide coaching, and support professional development.
Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Vendor and Budget Management:
Manage relationships with IT vendors and service providers.
Negotiate contracts, monitor service level agreements, and ensure cost-effective solutions.
Develop and manage the IT department's budget.
Security and Compliance:
Implement and enforce IT security policies and practices to protect against cyber threats.
Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards.
Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
Help Desk and Support:
Oversee the IT help desk to provide timely technical support to employees.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues and provide guidance to the support team.
Ensure that end-users have access to necessary resources and tools.
Project Management:
Manage IT projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
Collaborate with other departments to define project requirements and goals.
Monitor project progress and provide status reports to senior management.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in IT management and leadership roles.
Previous experience within the education sector
Strong technical knowledge in a variety of IT areas, including network infrastructure, security, and systems administration.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Knowledge of industry standards and compliance regulations.
