Job summary
As a Health and Safety Coordinator, your primary role will revolve around safeguarding the well-being of both employees and visitors within the workplace. You will work closely with management, staff, and regulatory authorities to establish and uphold effective health and safety policies and procedures. Your core responsibilities will encompass:Continuously reviewing and updating safety policies to align with industry best practices.
Managing safety observation cards, safety tracker meetings, and EHS committee meetings.
Organising and conducting safety training programs for employees across all levels.
Investigating workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses to pinpoint root causes and propose corrective measures.
Carrying out risk assessments and COSHH assessments.
Compiling and analysing safety-related data to identify trends and areas for enhancement.
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
A degree in health and safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Ideally, professional certifications in health and safety (e.g., Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist).
Proven experience in health and safety coordination or related roles.
Valuable experience in a dynamic production or engineering environment.
A comprehensive understanding of health and safety regulations, codes, and best practices.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytic and problem-solving abilities.
The capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
A steadfast commitment to upholding high safety standards.
