GSL Education are seeking for a Teaching Assistant to work with Special Educational Needs students at client Secondary School in York, North Yorkshire starting as soon as possible.
GSL Educational are seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant where you will be required to provide support to children who have SEN in groups or 1:1, within a classroom setting. You will have to be confident and able to work as part of a team, who challenge and support the progress of pupils.

The school believes in a holistic approach to education.SEN Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
Work closely with students who have specific learning difficulties, disabilities, or behavioural issues, tailoring your support to meet their unique needs.
Collaborate with the classroom teacher to adapt and modify lesson plans and materials to accommodate students with SEN.
Provide one-on-one or small group support to help students grasp concepts they may struggle with in regular classroom settings.
Keep track of the academic and social progress of the students you support and provide regular feedback to the classroom teache.
Offer emotional support and guidance to students, helping them build confidence and develop social skills.
Promote inclusion and integration of students with SEN into mainstream classroom activities and social settings, fostering a sense of belonging.
Maintain accurate records of the support provided, progress made, and any relevant observations for reporting purposes.
Communicate regularly with parents or guardians, updating them on their child's progress and discussing any concerns or developments.
Provide assistance with personal care tasks if required, ensuring the safety and well-being of the students.SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements:
Be hardworking, dedicated, and committed to a long-term post.
Excellent communication skills.
Work alongside the teaching staff to support pupil behaviour, learning and personal development.
Build a trusting relationship and rapport with a student to help them to re-engage with the rest of the class.
Encourage pupil participation in whole-School life, including extra-curricular activities.
Promote a positive attitude and behaviour towards learning.
Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions, following lesson outcomes planned by the class teacher.
Have a Teaching Assistant Qualification, Degree, NVQ or relevant experience.
Hold an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to complete one through GSL Education.
