Job summary

Twenty 4 Seven Education are seeking a DT Teacher with QTS.

Teach students by planning their teaching to achieve progression of learning and appropriate qualification through:

identifying clear teaching objectives and specifying how they will be taught and assessed;

setting tasks which challenge students and ensure high levels of interest;

setting appropriate expectations;

setting clear targets, building on prior attainment

identifying particular needs for individual students e.g. SEN.

providing clear structures for lessons ensuring pace, motivation and challenge are maintained

ensuring coverage of programmes of study and making effective use of assessment. ensuring effective teaching and best use of available time;

maintaining discipline in accordance with the school's procedures and encouraging good practice with regard to punctuality, behaviour and standards of work;

using a variety of teaching methods to: match approach to content, structure information, present a set of key ideas and use appropriate vocabulary

use effective questioning, listen carefully to students, give attention to errors and misconception 2

ensuring students acquire and consolidate knowledge, skills and understanding appropriate to the subject taught;

evaluating own teaching critically to improve effectiveness; ensuring the effective and efficient deployment of classroom support

taking account of students' needs by providing structured learning opportunities which develop the areas of learning identified in national and local policies

encouraging students to think and talk about their learning, develop selfcontrol and independence, concentrate and persevere, and listen attentively;

using a variety of teaching strategies which involve planned adult intervention, first-hand experience and play and talk as a vehicle for learning;

liaising with the Head of Teaching & Learning and School Business Manager to develop and maintain a department budget. 2. MONITORING, ASSESSMENT, RECORDING, REPORTING

assess how well learning objectives have been achieved and use them to improve specific aspects of teaching;

mark and monitor students' work and set targets for progress;

assess and record students' progress systematically and keep accurate records

check work is understood and completed, monitor strengths and weaknesses, inform planning and recognise the level at which the student is achieving;

undertake assessment of students as requested by examination bodies, departmental and school procedures; prepare and present informative reports to parents;

complete, review and maintain records of all Health & Safety documentation as required by the school.

CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT

contribute to team responsibility for a subject or aspect of the school's work and develop plans which identify clear targets and success criteria for its development and / or maintenance;

contribute to the whole school's development activities.

PROFESSIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

maintain good relationships with students, exercise appropriate authority and act decisively where necessary;

communicate effectively with parents with regard to students achievements and well-being;

develop effective professional relationships with colleagues, knowing how and when to draw on advice and specialist support;

make effective use of support staff

share the vision and support the leadership of the school;

work in partnership and fully support the Headteacher in the implementation of school policies and practices and in the development of the school;

uphold public trust in the profession and maintain high standards of ethics and behaviour, within and outside school;

ensure own continuing professional development including attending training opportunities;

be able to stimulate students and colleagues by a positive, active and supportive attitude;

liaise with colleagues in order to support the successful transition of all students.

PASTORAL CARE

Provide a high standard of physical and emotional care; Help promote and safeguard the welfare of all children;

Promote self-discipline, high standards of behaviour and positive attitudes on the part of all children and to implement policies and procedures to foster them;

Ensure that a high standard of physical and emotional care for all children is maintained.

COMMUNICATION AND COMMUNITY LINKS

Fully support the life and work of the school;

Develop and maintain positive and effective professional relationships with colleagues, parents, the local community and Management Committee;

Develop and maintain links with external Advisory and Support Services;

Provide information to the Management Committee to enable it to meet its responsibilities.

The ideal candidate:

* ** Demonstrate positive behaviour management

* ** Good communication and organisation skills

* ** Right to work in the UK

* ** Enhanced DBS on the Update Service. Candidates without an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service will have to apply for a new one
