Hunter Masons client is a forward-thinking construction and development company, with a reputation for delivering excellence built on trust and strong relationships. They are now looking for a Commercial Director who has experience in high-rise to join their expanding leadership team.
Duties
* In this leadership role, you will be representing the commercial and procurement functions as part of the Senior Management Team within the Business
* You will operate as the Managing Directors commercial conscience and ensure that targeted margin is achieved, cash is collected promptly and risks are appropriately managed.
* You will provide constructive challenge and support to Senior Management team peers in the commercial interests of the business
* You will represent the business in all commercial matters, both internally within the Division/Group and externally, with clients.
* You will support the Business to ensure commercial compliance is in accordance with the Groups governance processes.
Responsibilities
* Work collaboratively and in alignment with Finance Director to ensure all financial and commercial reporting is consistent, accurate and clear.
* Senior in-life Commercial point of contact with Customers.
* Working closely with Senior Management team to identify and release opportunities to reduce costs, maximise revenue and cash balances.
* Produce commercial reports including maintaining Commercial Risk and Opportunity schedules
* Participate in tender process and assessments including producing formal detailed reviews, risk matrix and settlements of proposed contracts
* Conduct reviews of main contracts and any change notifications including required administration
* Overall responsibility for successful delivery of Commercial Functions
* Collate and scrutinise monthly cost value reconciliations (CVRs)
* Provide commercial leadership, guidance and support to the Magdalene senior management team and your commercial staff
* Commercial sponsor and lead for implementation of new IT systems
* Participate with the annual budget process for the contract and any re- forecasting exercises
* Review and approve any legitimate variation claims (in accordance with DoA)
* Review and approve Final Account Submissions to clients
* Ensure any backlog of outstanding Cost Submissions and Final Accounts kept to minimum
* Escalation point of contact for subcontractors and internal teams regarding quotations, POs and commercial reporting
* Review and implement robust internal commercial management processes, protocol and administration
* Liaise with customers to ensure that the commercial performance is maintained (rate reviews, terms and conditions, dispute resolution)
