Job summary
We are currently working with a client, recruiting for a Quality Manager based at one of their bespoke machining facilities in Dukinfield (SK16). This exciting opportunity would involve you taking overall responsibility for the Quality function of the site, including preparing for and hosting audits, managing the Inspection team and liaising with customers on NPI projects and NCRs.Key tasks will include:
* Establish and maintain effective quality control processes, procedures, and policies in accordance with aerospace industry standards and regulations.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, customer specifications, and contractual obligations.
* Coordinate regular external audits of the business including customer audits, external industry bodies, environmental etc.
* Address and resolve supplier/internal quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions to mitigate risks.
* Perform regular audits of key suppliers within our supply chain.
* Define key quality metrics and monitor their performance to identify areas for improvement.
* Drive a culture of continuous improvement by initiating and leading quality improvement projects.
* Day to day management of the inspection department.
Requirements
* · Proven track record in a senior quality role in Aerospace or similar industry
* · Excellent customer facing skills with a proactive approach to problem solving
* · Solid understanding of AS9100
* · Understanding/experience of FAIR process (AS9102)
* · Ability to interpret 2D & 3D drawings
* · Experience of AS9100 and NADCAP audits
* · Familiar with a range of problem solving techniques 5 why, 8D etc.
* · Knowledge of SPC, FMEAs, MSA (Gauge R & R)
* · Experience of ISO14001 (Environmental Management)
* · Experience of managing people
* · Good understanding of CNC machining techniques
* · Experience of CMM and/or Articulated Arm
* · Experience of NPI process
* Must be able to reliably commute to SK16 Dukinfield area.
