Job summary
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Art Teacher.In this role, you will have the opportunity to ignite students' passion for art, nurture their artistic talents, and help them develop essential skills for self-expression and creative problem-solving.
Contract: Mon - Fri, 8:30AM - 3:30PM - Term Time Only
Salary: M1 - M6 Teaching pay scale - Final salary based on experience
As an Art Teacher, your responsibilities will include:
* Teaching a wide range of artistic techniques, mediums, and styles, including drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, and digital art.
* Providing constructive feedback and guidance to students to help them develop their artistic skills, explore their creativity, and build confidence in their abilities.
* Encouraging students to experiment with different materials and processes, take risks, and think critically about their artistic choices.
* Incorporating art history, cultural references, and contemporary art practices into lessons to deepen students' understanding of the art world and inspire their own creative practice.
* Organising and curating student artwork exhibitions and showcases to celebrate their achievements and promote a culture of creativity within the school community.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* An Enhanced DBS check to ensure the safety and well-being of our students.
* Previous experience teaching art or related subjects in a school or educational setting.
* A QTS or relevant teaching qualification with a specialisation in art education or fine arts.
* A passion for art and a deep commitment to fostering creativity, self-expression, and artistic exploration in young people.
* Strong artistic skills and knowledge across a variety of mediums and techniques, with the ability to inspire and guide students in their artistic journey.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students from diverse backgrounds and create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
