Job summary
Quantity Surveyor required by Tier One, Civil Engineering contractor, with an unrivalled reputation in their field. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious individual to join a company that works in a regulated environment where this is security of work on long-term frameworks. You will initially be working on various highways schemes throughout Somerset including; Yeovil, Bridgwater & Taunton. The company can offer works in both the Highways and Rail side of the business moving forward dependant on the successful individuals aspirations.As a Quantity Surveyor you will:
* Procure materials and off-site services in an efficient manner with organisations in accordance with the company procurement policy and procedures and ensure appropriate records are kept.
* Prepare work package content sheets as part of the project team.
* Prepare subcontract invitations to tender and evaluate tender returns (time, cost, quality and SHE) and make recommendations to appoint.
* Understand the importance of the supply chain to deliver continuous improvement in terms of time, cost, quality and learning of all parties.
* Maximise cash flow through timely preparation of valuations, submission of invoices and receipt of payment.
* Assist in the prompt preparation and settlement of final accounts, including variations.
* Use a knowledge and understanding of principle costs of resource (labour, plant and materials) to identify, manage, reduce and eliminate unnecessary costs and inefficient activities.
* Contribute to the production of accurate and timely CVR reports and forecasts.
Our client requires a Quantity Surveyor with:
* Degree/qualification in Quantity Surveying or similar.
* Previously worked for a Civil Engineering Contractor.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Drive and passion to succeed.
Salary and benefits include:
* £45,000 - £50,000 per annum
