Position Description
CGI is a leading provider of ground segment software supporting customers in the space industry or using data provided from space. Our heritage includes working on some of the most sophisticated geostationary and low-earth orbit satellites constellations. We are now developing services based on these networks, including their command and control and the integration of satcom and 5G for customers inside and outside the space industry. Converged 5G terrestrial/satcom networks, including IoT
Mobility applications for satellite networks
New communications technologies and platforms
Space system command and control systems

Your future duties and responsibilities
Successful candidates will be highly driven and creative individuals able to identify and work with a range of customers, understand their needs, and develop technical solutions with them.
They will lead the bid teams to develop and deliver successful proposals. They will continue to work with the customer during the projects, potentially overseeing elements of the delivery, to help them identify new requirements and business opportunities. Initiative and communications skills are essential components of this role, as well as a flexible approach.

Responsibilities:

Identify and qualify business prospects
Build client relationships and interest
Develop solutions encompassing CGI services, working with technical experts
Take a lead role in the sales campaign that results in CGI signing a contract with the client
Assist the client to gain maximum benefit from CGI services, and identify future o portunities
Achieve client satisfaction with and loyalty to CGI.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
University degree or equivalent qualification in a Physics, Engineering, or Maths related subject
Proven experience of business development and developing ideas into proposals, with a consistently high win rate in the space ground system domain
At least 5 years experience in a technical or project management role in space or communications
Understanding of satellite communications ground systems, space command and control systems and satellite networks (e.g. Inmarsat, Eutelsat, etc.), including an appreciation of the overall satcoms/space market
Familiarity with either software development (e.g. programming, Agile, DevOps), or communications networks (e.g. satellite communications, 4G/5G, IoT, WiFi)
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Commitment to quality and attention to detail
Demonstrates good commercial acumen and business awareness
Proven ability to negotiate with customers and suppliers
A winning mind-set, self-starter and demonstrated ability to learn quickly
Able to work from CGIs Leatherhead office on a daily basis if required

Desirable:
Technical understanding of networking protocols in a fixed or mobile context (e.g. IPv4/6, LTE, 5G, IEEE 802.11)
Experience of working in trade bodies, in industry groups or lobbying
Strong analytical skills
An interest in marketing and an active social media presence in the space industry
Previous experience of working with the European Space Agency
Previous experience of software development (e.g. Java, C++, Python), IT infrastructure and/or IT service delivery

Occasional trips to CGIs customers in Europe and Worldwide will be required.
Candidates must be SC cleared or SC Clearable.
