Position Overview: We are seeking a qualified and passionate Class Lead experienced supporting students with SEMH needs to join our team. GSL are currently working with a Multi Academy Trust provision supporting young adults in their educational journeys. Responsibilities of Class Lead:
Delivering Curriculum: Implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students. This includes planning and preparing courses and lessons that adhere to the curriculum.
Classroom Management: Maintain discipline in accordance with the schools procedures, and encourage good practice with punctuality, behaviour, standards of work and homework.
Assessing, Recording and Reporting: Assess how well learning objectives have been achieved and use this assessment for future lesson planning. Mark and grade students work and record their development, progress and attainment.
Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEMH needs within the classroom setting.
Collaborate with teaching staff to implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and behaviour plans.
Create a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting emotional well-being and social development.
Monitor and track the progress of students, providing regular feedback to relevant parties.
Qualifications of Class Lead:
Relevant qualifications in education, Sports, Psychology, Performing Arts etc.
Team Teach training or equivalent is highly desirable.
Previous experience working with students with SEMH or SEND needs.
Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and interventions including de-escalation tactics
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
Experience supporting students with EHCP plans is desirable
