Job summary

Interested in joining our team here at Bridgnorth Town Council? We are looking for a Finance Officer on a part time basis to work alongside the RFO.

Finance Officer

College House, St Leonards Close, Bridgnorth

30 hours per week, may include some weekends and evenings

Local Government Pay Award Scheme Up to NJC SCP 11 (£25,979) pro rata

What will you be doing?

* To support the Deputy Town Clerk/RFO in operating, managing and monitoring the matters relating to the finances of the Town Council

* To provide general administration support to the Deputy Town Clerk/RFO to include the preparation of agendas and reports for the Finance Committee

* To support the RFO in the preparation of the accounts on a monthly and annual basis

* To maintain the computerised financial records of the Council

* To be responsible for the operation of the sales and purchase ledgers of the Town Council

* To be responsible for the operation of the cashbooks, petty cash and corporate card accounts

What will you need?

* 5 GCSEs Grade C or above (to include Maths and English)

* Experience of working in a financial environment

* Experience of working effectively in a busy office environment

* High degree of accuracy

* Ability to collect, interpret, analyse and present data and information in a format easily understood by all audiences.

* Willingness to undertake training as part of a personal development plan

* Practical experience of a range of IT applications including the use of internal systems, email and online resources including Microsoft office.

* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal to a variety of stakeholders and partners.

* Able to work flexibly including some occasional weekends and evenings.
