Job summary
NYMR was founded in 1973 and is in the top 2% of UK charities by size. Today the North Yorkshire Moors Railway Trust is a not-for-profit charitable organisation run as part of the local community. It is a preserved historic railway stretching for 18 miles through the heart of North Yorkshire with over 100 employees, 1000 volunteers and 10,000 members. In addition to the railway they also operate Tea Rooms, Silver Service dining on the trains and retail outlets.Due to an internal restructuring, they now require an experienced part qualified Assistant Financial Controller to join their team.
This role would suit candidates who are ambitious, technically capable and looking for a role where they can make a difference/add value and will allow them to grow and progress.
The purpose of the Assistant Financial Controller is to support the Financial Controller whilst taking responsibility for the complete and accurate reporting of all NYMR entities and the production of the management accounts:
* Supporting with the preparation of annual budgets, and cash flow forecasting.
* Assisting with the preparation of year-end accounts and liaising with external auditors.
* Balance sheet reconciliations.
* Enhancing and streamlining financial and reporting processes to ensure they are constantly evolving and improving the quality of information for distribution to all users.
* Other ad hoc duties as required.
This search is not limited to any industry. Previous experience is essential to this recruitment:
* The successful candidate will be QAAT or studying towards ACCA/CIMA.
* Strong IT skills including Excel are essential.
* The successful candidate will be highly motivated with a can-do, flexible attitude.
* The ability to engage with NYMR Mission and Vision is essential along with the ability to demonstrate their values!
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential
