Job summary
Our client is looking for candidates with some experience of using hand tools such as Torque wrenches who can follow mechanical drawings/ Instructions.The role is workshop based in Crewe.
This is a long term, on-going contract.
Please note pay rates are dependent on experience and whether PAYE or Umbrella for all Mechanical Fitters.
STARTING RATE IS £15.44 UNTIL TRAINING IS COMPLETED
Hourly pay rate once training completed:
DAYS: £17.55 PAYE / £22.22 Umbrella
MORNINGS: £18.95 PAYE / £24.05 Umbrella
AFTERNOONS: £20.35 PAYE / £25.87 Umbrella
Shifts:
Mon-Fri 8am 4.30pm
Likely to go to Mornings and Afternoons in the next few months.
Hours per week: 37

Position Summary - Mechanical Fitter.
Based within the Rolling Stock industry (Trains) we are currently recruiting for Mechanical Engineers to operate out of a Rolling stock depot based in Crewe, to carry out the Mechanical Overhaul of Rail Bogies. Candidates will be required to carry out the following duties:
* Bogie overhaul, damage repair and engineering
* Wheel set overhaul, repair and analysis
* Bogie chassis, damage repair and clean
* Bogie and gearbox engineering / repair
* Wheel exchange on wheel sets
* Bearing, axle and wheel mounting
* Components and sub-assemblies overhaul repair and analysis
* Re-engineering and production of spare parts
To undertake all types of Mechanical, repair and replace on Rolling Stock to ensure that we provide our customer with a reliable, safe and defect free train.
Person Profile/Experience:
You will be a highly self-motivated individual, able to work under your own initiative.
You will possess excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
You will need extensive all-round knowledge of Mechanical Engineering
You will ideally have knowledge of modern rolling stock systems,
You will ideally have experience of Train depot operations.
We will consider candidates with good level experience rather than traditional qualifications.
Those candidates that maybe arent classically trained would be put through some training courses but they would be on a lower rate of £15.44 PAYE / £19.47 Umbrella for the first 4 weeks
