Our client a cutting-edge aerospace engineering & manufacturing organisation who are committed to innovation and excellence, are currently looking for an experienced Project Manager to join them on an initial 1-year fixed term contract out of their site in Southampton.Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
Coordinate and lead cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met within specified timelines and budget constraints.Risk Management
Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions.
Proactively address and resolve issues that may arise during the project lifecycle.Technical Oversight
Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team throughout the project.
Ensure that engineering solutions meet industry standards and customer requirements.Stakeholder Communication
Act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and alignment of expectations.
Prepare and deliver regular project status updates to internal and external stakeholders.Resource Management
Allocate resources efficiently to optimize project performance.
Collaborate with HR to identify and acquire additional talent when necessary.Budget Management
Develop and manage project budgets, tracking expenditures and ensuring adherence to financial constraints.
Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising project integrity.Continuous Improvement
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, seeking opportunities to enhance project management processes and methodologies.
Conduct post-project reviews to gather lessons learned and implement improvements for future projects.Required Experience/Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related field - however, other qualifications will be considered
Proven experience as a project manager in the aerospace industry or a similar Engineering/Manufacturing sector.
Strong understanding of engineering principles and processes.
Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Proficiency in project management tools and software
