Job summary

We are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer who has come from a Time Served Machining background.

You will need shop floor experience and to possess the ability to ensure that ISO standards are met and to keep the QMS up to date.

We are looking for a meticulous and professional candidate to come and work for our client on a permanent basis who are based in Skelmersdale.

The Package:

The basic salary for the Quality Assurance Engineer role is between £30,000 & £35,000 per annum.
Working days 08:00-16:30 and expected extra hours when the needs arise.

Overtime: You'll also have the opportunity to work regular overtime in this role (1.33x for mid-week and Sat O/T & 1.5x for Sun O/T)The Role:

In the Quality Assurance Engineer role, you will control and implement the Quality Management System [QMS] and ensure that customer quality expectations are achieved or surpassed.

Specific tasks include:

Authorisation of document procedures and ensuring the effective operation of the [QMS]
Implementation and maintenance of the [QMS]
Deputises for the Management Representative in his/her absence
Arranging review meetings and presenting findings from the quality records.
Ensuring the quality policy statement is displayed
Approval, issue and distribution of quality policy procedures and works specifications.
Ensuring that the latest British standard specifications are used
Recording and issue of changed documentation, including appropriate reference standards.
Carrying out audits of new contractors when deemed necessary and for working with contractors to clear complaints
Maintaining suitable procedures for the control of inspection and testing at all stages
Ensuring that the overall system complies with the requirements of the Quality Plan and that all required documentation exists
Documenting and updating procedures to take account of changes resulting from review meetings or any major investigations into non-conformances.
Establishing, administration and maintaining of audit plan
Allocation and co-ordinating of independent auditors
Administrative control of internal audit documentation and related quality record filesThe Candidate:

To be the right person for the Quality Assurance Engineer role you must be from a time served machining background with shop floor experience.

It's important that you also have the following, knowledge, skills and experience to perform the Quality Assurance Engineer role:

Have experience of controlling and implementing the Quality Management System [QMS] and ensure that customer quality expectations are achieved or surpassed.
Must be from a time served machining background with shop floor experience.
Being involved in technical issues relating to Thermal Coating Technology, Defect Investigation, Customer Technical Liaison and implementation of the [QMS].
Responsible for assisting in the Training of all personnel and ensuring compliance to existing ISO standards and legislative requirements.The Company:
