Job summary
ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEERThis is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER to join an established family-owned business based in Leeds. They are a leading manufacturer and supplier of electrical power distribution equipment and pioneers of super low loss amorphous transformer technology. Their flagship product saves money, saves energy, cuts carbon, and offers an innovative solution to the worldwide challenge of reducing energy wastage.
Reporting to the Head of Engineering you will be responsible for producing the designs, arrangements & schematics for products and working within the Engineering Teams procedural framework to ensure all design requirements are met.
Key areas include:
* Issuing marshalling & wiring schematics to client specifications
* Developing and maintaining component libraries
* Supporting the mechanical engineers where required
* Maintaining standard designs
* Investigating new technologies
* Working closely with the fitting department to improve output to internal customers
Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
* Essential:
* Knowledge & understanding of relay logic
* Ability to read and draw electrical schematics
* Relevant Electrical Engineering qualification
* Fault finding skills
* Panel wiring experience would be ideal but not essential
* Previous experience of transformers would be ideal but not essential
* AutoCAD experience would be ideal but not essential
* Well organised with good communication skills
* A sound knowledge of engineering design principles
* Excellent numeracy and I.T. skills
* Excellent problem-solving skills
* The ability to meet deadlines.
