Job DescriptionOur client is one of the world's largest and most prestigious law firms.Their Pensions department is very highly regarded, and acts for companies and trustees across all sectors.Please make an application promptly if you are a good match for this role due to high levels of interest.
They have a track record of working with professional advisers and public and regulatory bodies on the most complex, strategically important and reputationally risky pensions matters.
This is work which is not highly geared and often needs a strong Senior Associate or Partner's input
- in this role you have the opportunity to take a leading role, often at the forefront of matters and managing more junior colleagues.The team's experience spans the pensions implications of financing, insolvency, public and administrative law, tax and also incorporates pensions litigation where required.
In particular they are a market leader in the derisking space and receive a stream of work from the insurance sector.
The team is small and supportive, but also very busy and profitable.
As well as pensions advisory work they have a market-leading pensions buy-out practice.
The team does some contentious work and although it's not expected to be a focus in this role, if pensions disputes were of interest there might be an opportunity to work in this area.In order to be considered you will have:Trained and have 4+ years' post-qualification experience in non-contentious pensions matters at a City or regional firm with a well-regarded pensions practice (either company or trustee side experience could work well);Excellent academics (ideally all As at A-level or equivalent and a good 2:1 or better at a top tier university);Some experience of pensions derisking would be ideal; if you are interested there is an opportunity to specialize in this niche areaYou will be tactically and technically astute, ambitious and articulate.
