What does the role of a Special Needs Teaching Assistant involve? As a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant, you'll play a vital role in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students with special educational needs. Your role will include:

Helping the children with tasks such as reading or writing: You'll provide invaluable assistance to students as they navigate through their learning materials.

Attending teacher meetings and reviews: Your insights and contributions will be valuable during collaborative sessions aimed at enhancing the educational experience.Do I need qualifications to become a Teaching Assistant? While qualifications aren't mandatory, having relevant credentials can boost your candidacy. Here are some key criteria expected for the role:

Demonstrated proficiency in reading, writing, and numeracy skills, coupled with prior experience working with children.
GCSE level qualifications in maths and English are typically required by most schools.
A background check via the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) will be conducted.
Experience working with individuals with special educational needs is beneficial but not essential: Prior experience in a similar role or relevant training in special education is highly beneficial.
