As we continue to push the boundaries of innovation, we are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our friendly, family feel and dynamic team.Key Duties and Responsibilities:
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in driving innovation and advancing our product designs. Your responsibilities will include:
Leading the design of customised solutions to ensure our company remains at the forefront of our industry.
Conducting thorough research on industry trends and developments to inform design decisions.
Collaborating closely with Sales, Service, Engineering, and Suppliers to understand customer needs, analyse competitors, and position our products effectively.
Taking ownership of design projects from conception to installation, ensuring accuracy and effective communication with stakeholders throughout.
Maintaining strong communication with strategic customers, analysing production processes, and identifying opportunities for design improvements.
Developing and testing design models, layouts, and enhancements in collaboration with suppliers.
Maintaining an up-to-date CAD library (SolidWorks) of machine and line layout drawings.
Promoting a positive attitude and embodying our brand values at all times.
Upholding the best interests of the company and operating within legal and regulatory frameworks.Necessary Qualifications/Skills:
Bachelor's degree or HNC in an Engineering discipline, or 5+ years of relevant experience.
Proven track record as a Mechanical Design Engineer, preferably in capital equipment or special purpose machinery design.
Experience with gearboxes, motors, pneumatic cylinders, and bearings integration into machinery.
Proficiency in Solidworks 3D software or similar design packages for detailed drawings.
Collaborative team player with a hands-on approach and commitment to accuracy.
Ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively within a small design department.
Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.Note: Travel to customer sites may be required (20%+)
