What you'll be doing

As a Technician/Fitter you will:

Ensure a disciplined approach to safety. health, environment and quality (SHEQ) on site, reinforce the procedures constantly - and if you have a late change to a plan, reassess the risks;

Provide clear and simple SHEQ guidance;

Intervene to stop any unsafe or non compliant practices immediately;

Provide visible management on site try to know people by name in your team;

Be prepared to listen to feedback, follow through with quick action and report back;

Take responsibility for the safety of others;

Be open about unsafe actions from which lessons can be learned;

Be assertive and confident in making sure all SHEQ procedures are followed;

Understand that working safely is good for the Balfour Beatty Rail business, good for the industry and good for you.

Who we're looking for

Personal Qualities and Experience required:

Served recognised apprenticeship;

Undertake road vehicle driving as required;

Personal Track Safety and Designated Person as required;

Ability to work to timescales/deadlines;

Health & Safety awareness;

Stores Knowledge;

Must meet and maintain the appropriate medical standard for the position;

PPPCs as required;

NVQ Level 3 qualified in the relevant discipline.
