Job summary

Job Title: Senior & Product Design Engineers.

Reporting to: Head of New Product Development.

To support the continued growth and innovation within the business, we are now actively looking to recruit two Senior Product Design & Product Design Engineers to join our Design & Innovation team at Fathom3.

Key Deliverables:

Operate efficiently and effectively as a key senior member of a multi-disciplinary and dynamic product development team.

Foster a strong culture of excellence and creativity and build strong collaborative relationships with peers and with members of cross-functional project teams.

Be a key advocate for design thinking and user-centred design methodology that results in compelling customer experiences.

Nurture team development by providing personal mentorship, guidance and skill enhancement.

How you can help us:

* Play a key role in leading specific NPD projects for the A-SAFE Group, ensuring optimal functionality, manufacturability, and safety compliance.

* Manage multiple design projects in a fast-paced environment, overseeing timelines, tasks, and deliverables to meet project goals and deadlines.

* Create an enjoyable and supportive work environment by sharing best practices, implementing design workflows, and actively contributing to a collaborative and efficient design atmosphere.

* Coordinate design, documentation, and transition to production activities related to new product design and development.

* Oversee and actively engage in on-site rapid prototyping activities, ensuring quick iteration and validation of design concepts.

* Provide status reports and attend design reviews and pre-production activities as appropriate.

* Provide mentorship and coaching to junior design team members, fostering professional growth and maintaining a high level of design expertise within the team.

* Conduct research into understanding customer needs, gather insights, and define problem statements that will drive the design process and result in innovative and customer-centric solutions.

* Collaborate closely within multi-disciplinary teams to leverage diverse expertise, foster efficient communication, and enhance cross-functional synergy.

* Engage closely with cross-functional teams in product development, services, engineering, and operations to ensure seamless coordination and collective success.

* Participate in the companys tooling processes to facilitate DFM or component trials (may require overseas travel to the Far East).

What we would like you to bring to our team:

Must-haves:

* A degree in Product Design or equivalent.

* 5+ years experience in product design.

* Experience in designing plastic components, injection moulding and extrusion.

* Excellent presentation and communication skills.

* Track record of achieving deadlines.

* Autodesk Inventor or alternate 3D CAD software.

* Detail-oriented, focussed on excellence

* Ability to perform in a fast-paced work environment.

Nice to haves:

* Understanding and appreciation of Mechanical Design.

* Experience in collaborating with universities.

* Knowledge of 3D printing and rapid prototyping.

* Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator.

* Understanding the uses of FEA.

* Ability to perform complex tolerance analysis.
