Job summary
My client is a recognised market leader, and have a fantastic opportunity to recruit a Procurement Specialist to play a vital role in implementing global procurement strategies. These strategies will ensure the effective supply of goods to deliver the best possible commercial approach. Supporting the five-year plan, you'll drive value at every possible opportunity, as well as looking at cost base reduction.As the Procurement Specialist you will be responsible with the delivery of key commercial arrangements, you'll manage tenders and quotations, ensuring they hit quality, price and value drivers at the right time. Working hand in hand with the category leadership teams you'll implement best practice and make sure global and regional requirements are met.
Procurement Specialist responsibilities
* Create and develop procurement strategies and manage procurement activity for spend area on global basis, ensuring the delivery of a best value commercial approach.
* Be integrated into the relevant functional teams to ensure close alignment of procurement activities.
* Manage all selection, qualifying and approving of suppliers and procurement activities.
* Financial budgeting and control for all spend under responsibility.
* Manage, develop and supervise the day to day activities of direct reports.
* Creating & Sharing Best Practice.
* Oversee supplier contract performance and act as an escalation point for Risk Management.
Procurement Specialist experience
* MCIPS Qualified or Degree educated or equivalent.
* Proven purchasing experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment; delivering value for money and cost reduction.
* Global sourcing and import/export compliance.
* Results-oriented with strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial capabilities.
* Strong people engagement & collaboration leadership style.
* Current knowledge of procurement best practice.
