The ClientAn Established, highly regarded public sector organisation in Greater Manchester who is growing at a good pace based on highly successful support to national transport and infrastructure projects and continued investment in the transport network across the North.
The Role
A Procurement Manager or Senior Buyer is required to lead a small team to advise and support the clients requirements on a day to day basis:
Significant expertise in the Rail / Logistics / Infrastructure Categories
Deep knowledge of supply chain management and procurement
Proficient in analytical tasks, sourcing, negotiation, and communication.
Demonstrated success in time management, strong project management abilities, attention to detail, and organisational skills.
The Candidate
Leads strategic sourcing events, presenting data and recommendations to management across the organization
Negotiates contracts and prices for all categories.
Serves as a thought leader with experience in leading Procurement staff.
Manages Category Management tasks, including spend analytics, strategic sourcing and educating the client on markets, suppliers, and trends.
Collaborates with suppliers to enhance value and innovation.
Influences and improves policies, programmes, and processes.
Reviews, drafts, and creates various agreements, leading contract negotiations across multiple Risk Control Functions.
Monitors supplier adherence to contracts; conducts supplier reviews and supports regulatory compliance.
Presents Procurement performance metrics and projects to senior management.
Manages supplier fitness, analysing overall business and financial performance.
Establishes and maintains relationships with key partners, providing education on policy/guidelines and resolving purchasing issues.
