Job summary
About us:We are a dynamic engineering business working in the aerospace market for major airlines and manufacturers. We operate workshop and field-based engineers to provide maintenance and repairs to aircraft tooling and equipment across the UK and Europe. With multiple hubs across the UK we provide our customers with timely local support on a daily basis. Our head office is based in Poole, Dorset and we have additional offices and workshops at key aerospace hubs in the UK.
About the role:
We are currently looking for an Inspector to carry out high quality inspections in line with LOLER and PUWER, and survey various types of engineering tooling and equipment, lifting equipment and cranes, pressure vessels and motorised plant. The Inspector will test and certify that all asset types are compliant to the relevant regulations and be comfortable to quarantine those that are not. The successful candidate will be expected to produce written reports, and build and maintain professional working relationships with multiple customers across many sites. It will be essential to work as a team on site and in conjunction with operational and administration support staff.
Main Duties Include:
* Inspecting and surveying equipment to identify areas of non-compliance with LOLER & PUWER and generating reports via our online system.
* Supporting work activities at other airports or UK sites as required from time to time.
* Work closely with the Operations Team to ensure jobs are accepted, understood, implemented and closed down efficiently and accurately.
* Manage day to day work load to ensure jobs are delivered on time.
* Provide regular updates to the business on works progress and any risk to the business.
* The majority of these services will be carried out on site with the use of our service vehicle.
What we are looking for in our candidates:
* Confident communicator with clear working understanding of H&S Requirements, LOLER & PUWER 98 regulations.
* LEEA certifications are advantageous but not essential
* Demonstrable experience in a similar role and environment
* Self-motivated who can work alone or as part of an established team
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Demonstrate a can do attitude with a strong commercial understanding of risk
* Good at communicating with people at all levels
Additional Information:
* Travel between sites may be a requirement from time to time
* Full clean driving licence (manual gearbox)
* Must have right to work in the UK
* Must be able to gain an airport pass therefore clean personal record and ability to show previous work/educational history up to 5 years prior with references.
* This job specification is subject to change in light of contract experience.
